| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Alfred Anderson on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of his retirement as Executive Director of the | ||||||
| 5 | Champaign County Regional Planning Commission Workforce | ||||||
| 6 | Development Services; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Alfred Anderson has served as Executive Director | ||||||
| 8 | for 35 years, since back when the program was known as the | ||||||
| 9 | Champaign Consortium; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Alfred Anderson served on the Champaign City | ||||||
| 11 | Council for 2 years, the Champaign County Housing Authority for | ||||||
| 12 | 10 years, the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit Board for 10 years, | ||||||
| 13 | the Urban League of Champaign County for 2 years, the Head | ||||||
| 14 | Start Advisory Board of Commissioners for 2 years, the | ||||||
| 15 | Community Collaboration for Economic Development for 8 years, | ||||||
| 16 | the Illinois Workforce Partnership for 25 years, the Champaign | ||||||
| 17 | Community and Police Partnership for 6 years, and the Greater | ||||||
| 18 | Champaign County Economic Development Corporation Board for 2 | ||||||
| 19 | years; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Alfred Anderson has worked tirelessly to ensure | ||||||
| 21 | disadvantaged youths have easy access to programs such as | ||||||
| 22 | Education to Work, Upward Bound, and Cunningham Children's | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Vocational Programs; due to his diligence, many Champaign | ||||||
| 2 | County youths are attending Colleges and Universities | ||||||
| 3 | throughout the country; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Alfred Anderson is a faithful and dedicated member | ||||||
| 5 | and volunteer of The Church of the Living God in Champaign, | ||||||
| 6 | where he serves as a Deacon, culinary committee member, van | ||||||
| 7 | driver, and delivers food to needy families each and every | ||||||
| 8 | month; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Alfred Anderson has selflessly shared his wisdom, | ||||||
| 10 | talents, knowledge, and understanding to enrich the lives of | ||||||
| 11 | everyone who has been blessed to cross in his path; he is a | ||||||
| 12 | true humanitarian, with a "never give up" determination and | ||||||
| 13 | drive encouraging all who work for and around him to do their | ||||||
| 14 | absolute best; his goal in life is to impact the lives of | ||||||
| 15 | others with programs similar to those that impacted his own | ||||||
| 16 | life at an early age; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Alfred Anderson is an avid sports fan and enjoys | ||||||
| 18 | following the Illini, the Chicago Bulls, Bears, and Cubs; he | ||||||
| 19 | loves to cook and share his famous BBQ sauce with those | ||||||
| 20 | fortunate enough to get a taste, and has never let a pot of | ||||||
| 21 | coffee go unmade...or unemptied; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Alfred Anderson will be sorely missed by all who | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | have had the pleasure of working with him over the years, and | ||||||
| 2 | especially by his staff and friends, who honor, respect, and | ||||||
| 3 | love him very much; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, A celebration in honor of Alfred Anderson's | ||||||
| 5 | retirement will be held on January 24, 2014; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 7 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 8 | we congratulate Alfred Anderson on his retirement as Executive | ||||||
| 9 | Director of the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission | ||||||
| 10 | Workforce Development Services, and wish him the best in all | ||||||
| 11 | his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to Alfred Anderson as an example of our esteem and | ||||||
| 14 | respect.
