HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate James M. Meyer of 
4Naperville on his retirement from the Illinois Comprehensive 
5Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Board; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, James Meyer was appointed to the Board on June 1, 
71996 and served until October 11, 2013; he served as Chairman 
8of both the Board's Grievance Committee and its Underwriting 
9and Carrier Oversight Committee and as a member of the Board's 
10Communications Committee, Evaluation Committee, and Finance 
11Committee; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, James Meyer was a strong advocate for CHIP 
13participants and was a resilient negotiator on behalf of the 
14Plan, saving millions of dollars in Plan Administrator 
15contracts; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, James Meyer is the Area Executive Vice President 
17for Gallagher Benefit Services Inc.; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, James Meyer is a former member of the Board of 
19Directors for the Worksite Wellness Council of Illinois and is 
20a current member of the International Foundation of Employee 
21Benefit Plans; and

1    WHEREAS, James Meyer has been married to Patty for 25 years 
2and they have 2 children together, Jack and Jodi; he has a 
3Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from the 
4University of Wisconsin and recently completed a master's 
5degree in Christian Ministries; he and Patty spend much of 
6their time in Haiti working with orphans through Impact for 
7Jesus Ministries; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate James M. Meyer on his retirement from the 
11Illinois Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Board and wish him 
12the best with all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to James Meyer as an expression of our esteem and 
15respect.
