2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dan | ||||||
4 | Edward Bluthardt; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt was born on April 16, 1965, in | ||||||
6 | Madison, Wisconsin, to Edward Earl Jr. and Diane Rose (Latoria) | ||||||
7 | Bluthardt; he was raised in Schiller Park; in 1983, he | ||||||
8 | graduated from East Leyden High School, where he played | ||||||
9 | football and enjoyed playing in a rock band; he graduated from | ||||||
10 | the University of Wisconsin in 1987, where he was a member of | ||||||
11 | Phi Gamma Delta; he married Carrie Larsen on May 13, 1995; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt worked for many years in State | ||||||
13 | government and had been serving as a lobbyist the last few | ||||||
14 | years of his career; he worked for the Illinois Department of | ||||||
15 | Natural Resources from 1988 to 1991 and then served as policy | ||||||
16 | coordinator and analyst for the Illinois House Republican | ||||||
17 | Leaders's Office from 1991 to 1995; from 1999 until December | ||||||
18 | 2003 he worked as director of the Legislative Affairs Section | ||||||
19 | and then as assistant to the director for Marketing | ||||||
20 | Administration within the Department of Professional | ||||||
21 | Regulation; he was the deputy director for the Licensing & | ||||||
22 | Testing Division at the Department of Professional Regulation | ||||||
23 | from December 2003 to June 2004 and served as the director of |

1 | the Division of Professional Regulation for the Illinois | ||||||
2 | Department of Financial and Professional Regulation from July | ||||||
3 | 2004 to March 2010; from 1993 to 1995, he was vice-president | ||||||
4 | and co-owner of Stuff for Success Inc. in Franklin Park; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt followed in the footprints of his | ||||||
6 | grandfather, former State Rep. Edward E. Bluthardt Sr. and | ||||||
7 | entered politics; he served as precinct committeeman in Leyden | ||||||
8 | Township for many years and was president of the Leyden | ||||||
9 | Township Republican Organization for a number of years; he also | ||||||
10 | was elected precinct committeeman in Algonquin Township; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt enjoyed boating, fishing, following | ||||||
12 | the Chicago Cubs, and having cocktails with friends; he liked | ||||||
13 | to take his family on trips to Eagle River, Wisconsin; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Dan Bluthardt is survived by his children Rocco | ||||||
15 | and Amanda; his wife, Carrie; his cousins, Chris and Todd | ||||||
16 | Itrich; his brother, Brent; and many lifelong friends; | ||||||
17 | therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
19 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
20 | we mourn the passing of Dan Bluthardt, and extend our sincere | ||||||
21 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
22 | him; and be it further
