2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the coaches and members of | ||||||
4 | the Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts student team for their | ||||||
5 | victories at the American Culinary Federation's Central US | ||||||
6 | Student Culinary Team Championship; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, The Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts | ||||||
8 | Department competed in April of 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas | ||||||
9 | for the American Culinary Federation's Central US Student | ||||||
10 | Culinary Team Championship and the central U.S. individual | ||||||
11 | Student Chef of the Year competition; the program competed | ||||||
12 | against the best teams and individual culinary students from | ||||||
13 | the 15 states in the central region of the United States; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Department Chair Chef | ||||||
15 | Michael McGreal and coaches Chef Tim Bucci, Chef Kyle | ||||||
16 | Richardson, and Chef Suzette Simpson, the Joliet Junior College | ||||||
17 | Culinary Arts student team won the 1st place gold and the title | ||||||
18 | of 2013 central US champions; the team will compete in the | ||||||
19 | "final four" in Las Vegas in July of 2013 for the national | ||||||
20 | title against the other 3 top U.S. regional teams; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts student | ||||||
22 | Jackie Adamonis competed in the Central U.S. Student Chef of |

| |||||||
1 | the Year competition and won the 1st place gold and the title | ||||||
2 | of Top Student Chef of the Year for the Central U.S.; she will | ||||||
3 | also compete in the "final four" in July of 2013 against the | ||||||
4 | other 3 top U.S. regional students for the title of top student | ||||||
5 | chef in America; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, The Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts has its | ||||||
7 | own local chapter with the American Culinary Federation and | ||||||
8 | competed in a volunteerism competition for the central U.S. | ||||||
9 | region; the goal was to volunteer time and efforts towards | ||||||
10 | fighting both hunger and childhood obesity in America; the ACF | ||||||
11 | Louis Joliet Chapter/Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts team | ||||||
12 | won this competition and was awarded a $10,000 prize from | ||||||
13 | Hidden Valley Original Ranch dressings and dips for its student | ||||||
14 | centered chapter, whose members are committed to giving back to | ||||||
15 | their communities; and

16 | WHEREAS, The members of the Joliet Junior College Culinary | ||||||
17 | Arts student team are Jacob Bernard, Joe Biskie, Amy Gutierrez, | ||||||
18 | Timothy Baran, and Vince Cassidy; and | ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, The members of the Joliet Junior College Culinary | ||||||
20 | Arts student team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and | ||||||
21 | dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, | ||||||
22 | be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
2 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
3 | we congratulate the coaches and members of the Joliet Junior | ||||||
4 | College Culinary Arts student team for their victories at the | ||||||
5 | American Culinary Federation's Central US Student Culinary | ||||||
6 | Team Championship and wish them continued success and happiness | ||||||
7 | in the future; and be it further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts student | ||||||
10 | team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
