| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bernard (Bernie) |
| 4 | | L. and Beverly (Bev) J. Thieben on the occasion of their 50th |
| 5 | | wedding anniversary; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Thieben was born November 1, 1932, and |
| 7 | | worked for 37 years at
Caterpillar, Inc., served as supervisor |
| 8 | | of Medina Township for 36 years, and owned a local auto body |
| 9 | | shop for 12 years; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Thieben is also a past president of Peoria |
| 11 | | County's Township Official Association and was chairman of the |
| 12 | | Township Officials of Illinois Risk Management Association, a |
| 13 | | member of the Peoria County Republican Central Committee, Odd |
| 14 | | Fellows, Lions Club, and an active member of the Illinois |
| 15 | | Scottish Rite Lodge as a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner; he |
| 16 | | currently is an Elder at La Prairie Presbyterian Church and a |
| 17 | | board member of the Chillicothe-based Rescue 33 Ambulance |
| 18 | | Service; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bev Thieben was born Beverly J. Buskirk on June |
| 20 | | 19, 1940, and served as an administrative assistant for Medina |
| 21 | | Township for 25 years, worked at the Peoria County Courthouse |
| 22 | | in the Election Office for 5 years, operated a beauty salon for |
|

| 1 | | 7 years, served many years as a room mother at Mossville Junior |
| 2 | | High, was a member of the Peoria County Rural Council on Aging |
| 3 | | Board, and helped co-found the Mossville Softball Summer League |
| 4 | | in 1972, one of the first in Central Illinois; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Thieben and Bev Buskirk married April 13, |
| 6 | | 1963, at the United
Methodist Church in Mossville in a ceremony |
| 7 | | performed by H. Keith Gaither, Jr. M.G.; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, On April 13, 2013, Bernie and Bev Thieben will be |
| 9 | | joined in celebration by
their children, Denise Thieben, Le Ann |
| 10 | | and Guy Krulac, Paulette and Jim Korte, James and Betsey West, |
| 11 | | Scott L. West, Bernard H. Thieben, and Elizabeth Cheever; their |
| 12 | | grandchildren, Joshua Broughton, Dawn Davis, Nicole Jarvis, |
| 13 | | Nicholas Thieben, Stephanie West, Christopher Panek, Robert |
| 14 | | West, Jessica West, Rachael West, Michael Krulac, Jimmy Krulac, |
| 15 | | Scott C. West, Amy Costa, Tasha McKeever, Kent McKeever, and |
| 16 | | Rachel Korte; and their great-grandchildren, Jacob Broughton, |
| 17 | | Dakota Williams, Hunter Jarvis, Bryson Jarvis, Olivia |
| 18 | | Whitehurst, Logan Thieben, Mason Thieben, Ezekiel Krulac, |
| 19 | | Kaelyn Krulac, and Christian Jarvis; and will be missing their |
| 20 | | child Ricky Thieben who passed away; therefore, be it
