2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Eminent Domain Act is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 10-5-40 as follows:
|
6 | | (735 ILCS 30/10-5-40) (was 735 ILCS 5/7-117)

7 | | Sec. 10-5-40. Oath of jury. When the jury is is selected, |
8 | | the court shall
cause the following oath to be administered to |
9 | | the jury:
|
10 | | You and each of you do solemnly swear that you will well |
11 | | and truly
ascertain and report just compensation to the owner |
12 | | (and each owner) of
the property which it is sought to take or |
13 | | damage in this case, and to
each person therein interested, |
14 | | according to the facts in the case, as
the same may appear by |
15 | | the evidence, and that you will truly
report such compensation |
16 | | so ascertained: so help you God. |
