2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply |
3 | | saddened to learn of the death of James Dillow of Shannon, who |
4 | | passed away on December 10, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, James Dillow was born on August 29, 1972, to James |
6 | | and Janice (Stoner) Dillow; he graduated Eastland High School |
7 | | in 1990, attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South |
8 | | Carolina, and graduated from St. Anthony College of Nursing in |
9 | | Rockford; he married Rachel Cruz on August 20, 1994, in |
10 | | Shannon; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, James Dillow was a member of Shannon Baptist |
12 | | Church; he enjoyed photography, dancing, gardening, and music- |
13 | | especially playing piano; he enjoyed Christmas shopping, |
14 | | spending time with his family, and numerous activities with his |
15 | | children from playing dress-up to going hunting; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, James Dillow was a FHN Memorial Hospital nursing |
17 | | supervisor; he was a flight nurse for REACT of Rockford |
18 | | Memorial Hospital for 11 years; it was during the discharge of |
19 | | his duties for REACT that he and fellow flight nurse Karen |
20 | | Hollis, and pilot Andrew Olesen, perished when they encountered |
21 | | bad weather on route to pick up a critically ill patient; and

1 | | WHEREAS, James Dillow was preceded in death by his |
2 | | grandparents, William and Myrtle Dillow and David and Cecil |
3 | | Stoner; and

4 | | WHEREAS, James Dillow is survived by his wife, Rachel; his |
5 | | daughters, Shelby and Libby; his sons, Gabriel and Jacob; his |
6 | | parents, James and Janice Dillow; his sisters, Deanne (Paul) |
7 | | Rose, Vickie Meinsma, Julie (John) Liles, and Jamie (Scott) |
8 | | White; his father and mother-in-law, Sebastian and Jean Cruz; |
9 | | his sister-in-law, Gina (Brad) Walker; his nieces and nephews, |
10 | | Justin (Ashley) Wolber, Kristy (Jim) Dowling, Desiree (Travis) |
11 | | Holz, Michael Rose, Breanna Rose, Kayla (Derek) Carroll, Bryce |
12 | | Meinsma, Brett Meinsma, Autumn White, Ethan White, Courtney |
13 | | Walker, and Margaret Walker; therefore, be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | James Dillow, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
18 | | further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of James Dillow as an expression of our |
21 | | deepest sympathy.
