SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of James Dillow of Shannon, who
4passed away on December 10, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Dillow was born on August 29, 1972, to James
6and Janice (Stoner) Dillow; he graduated Eastland High School
7in 1990, attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South
8Carolina, and graduated from St. Anthony College of Nursing in
9Rockford; he married Rachel Cruz on August 20, 1994, in
10Shannon; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James Dillow was a member of Shannon Baptist
12Church; he enjoyed photography, dancing, gardening, and music-
13especially playing piano; he enjoyed Christmas shopping,
14spending time with his family, and numerous activities with his
15children from playing dress-up to going hunting; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Dillow was a FHN Memorial Hospital nursing
17supervisor; he was a flight nurse for REACT of Rockford
18Memorial Hospital for 11 years; it was during the discharge of
19his duties for REACT that he and fellow flight nurse Karen
20Hollis, and pilot Andrew Olesen, perished when they encountered
21bad weather on route to pick up a critically ill patient; and

1    WHEREAS, James Dillow was preceded in death by his
2grandparents, William and Myrtle Dillow and David and Cecil
3Stoner; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Dillow is survived by his wife, Rachel; his
5daughters, Shelby and Libby; his sons, Gabriel and Jacob; his
6parents, James and Janice Dillow; his sisters, Deanne (Paul)
7Rose, Vickie Meinsma, Julie (John) Liles, and Jamie (Scott)
8White; his father and mother-in-law, Sebastian and Jean Cruz;
9his sister-in-law, Gina (Brad) Walker; his nieces and nephews,
10Justin (Ashley) Wolber, Kristy (Jim) Dowling, Desiree (Travis)
11Holz, Michael Rose, Breanna Rose, Kayla (Derek) Carroll, Bryce
12Meinsma, Brett Meinsma, Autumn White, Ethan White, Courtney
13Walker, and Margaret Walker; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16James Dillow, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of James Dillow as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
