2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Lombard Village President William J. |
4 | | "Bill" Mueller, who passed away on August 18, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller was raised in Lombard by his |
6 | | parents, Joseph and Dolorosa Mueller; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller opened the Bill Mueller Insurance |
8 | | Agency on Westmore Avenue shortly after returning to Lombard in |
9 | | 1965; he retired from American Family Insurance in 2005; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller served as President of the Village |
11 | | of Lombard since 1993 and began his 5th consecutive term in May |
12 | | of 2009; he was the longest serving village president in |
13 | | Lombard's history; and |
14 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller served on the Lombard Safety |
15 | | Committee, the Lombard Youth Commission, and the Lombard |
16 | | Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he served as president |
17 | | for 2 years; he also served as a village trustee and chairman |
18 | | of the Public Works Committee and was a member and chairman of |
19 | | the Wage Community Development Commission; and |
20 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller was a member of the Lombard Plan |

1 | | Commission, co-chair of the Glenbard Wastewater Authority, |
2 | | chairman of DuComm, vice chairman of the DuPage Water |
3 | | Commission, a member of the DuPage Convention and Visitors |
4 | | Bureau, a member and president of the DuPage Mayors and |
5 | | Managers Conference, and a member of the board of governors for |
6 | | Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller had been a chairman and was |
8 | | involved in Cub leader training for Kitigan District, the |
9 | | DuPage Area Council, and the Boy Scouts of America; he served |
10 | | as an adult adviser for Junior Achievement; he was chairman of |
11 | | the Benefit Dance for Central DuPage Hospital; he served as a |
12 | | Republican committeeman for Precinct #96; he was president of |
13 | | the Eastgate Merchants Association; he was a member of Citizens |
14 | | for Parks and "Project 26" with the Lombard Park District; he |
15 | | was a member of the Lombard YMCA Century Club and its board of |
16 | | directors; he was also a member of the Memorial Hospital |
17 | | Century Club, the Good Samaritan Hospital Club, the 100 Club of |
18 | | DuPage County, and the Newman Century Club; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller served his country with pride as a |
20 | | member of the Illinois Air National Guard; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller was preceded in death by his |
22 | | nephew, Joe Harrington; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, William Mueller is survived by his beloved wife, |
2 | | Eileen; his daughters, Debbie (Keith) Rapata and Donna (Mark) |
3 | | Fruehe; his grandchildren, K.J., Stephen, Mikey, and Ashley; |
4 | | his brother, Thomas M. (June); his nieces and nephews, Mike |
5 | | (Jenny) Mueller, Jim Mueller, Chris Williams, Cheryl (Jim) |
6 | | Maynard, Don Wesolowicz, Sandy Wesolowicz, and Mike, Mary, |
7 | | Kelly, and Ann Harrington; his sisters-in-law, Carol (Don) |
8 | | Wesolowicz, Lucille Rogers, and Mary Harrington; his |
9 | | brother-in-law, Francis (Rose) Rogers; his special cousin, Ann |
10 | | Ahern; and his many other relatives and friends; therefore, be |
11 | | it

12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
14 | | his family and friends, the passing of William J. "Bill" |
15 | | Mueller; and be it further

16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
17 | | presented to the family of William Mueller as an expression of |
18 | | our sympathy.
