2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply |
3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Norris A. Erickson of |
4 | | Aurora, who passed away on August 20, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Norris Erickson was born on April 6, 1944, in |
6 | | Davenport, Iowa, to Alvin and Lila Erickson; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Norris Erickson served in the U.S. Army from |
8 | | 1965-1967; he was stationed in Panama with the military police; |
9 | | he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1972 |
10 | | following in the footsteps of his father, mother, and aunt; |
11 | | upon graduation he moved to Sandwich joining his aunt at her |
12 | | chiropractic office; he moved to Aurora in 1976 and opened |
13 | | Erickson Chiropractic Center; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Norris Erickson was 1 of 33 in the first |
15 | | graduating class at Palmer College to receive his LCP in 2000 |
16 | | in the Palmer Legion of Chiropractic Philosophers; in 2000, he |
17 | | was awarded with a Fellow in the Palmer Academy of Chiropractic |
18 | | for valued contributions to Palmer College and to the |
19 | | advancement of the chiropractic profession; he received a |
20 | | Distinguished Fellow from the International Chiropractic |
21 | | Association in recognition of outstanding contributions to |
22 | | patients, chiropractic, and humanity in 2001, and a Diplomate |

1 | | in Philosophical Chiropractic Standard by the International |
2 | | Chiropractic Association Council of Chiropractic Philosophy in |
3 | | 2005; he went on 2 chiropractic missions to Panama in |
4 | | 1986-1987; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Norris Erickson gave back to his community |
6 | | outside of his primary profession as well; he was the long |
7 | | serving commander on the Roosevelt Aurora Post 84 American |
8 | | Legion, past Kane County commander of the American Legion, and |
9 | | Passe Chef de Gare of 40&8 elite of the American Legion; he was |
10 | | instrumental in bringing the Moving Wall to Aurora in 1989, and |
11 | | in the renaming of Veterans' Island and the memorial on it |
12 | | dedicated to all veterans, past, present, and future; he was a |
13 | | member of the Masonic Lodge #254, Aurora Area Shrine Club, and |
14 | | the Aurora Airport board; he sponsored very successful softball |
15 | | teams in the 80's; and

16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Norris Erickson is survived by his wife, |
17 | | Sally; his daughters, Krista Erickson Tetter, Karsta (Bill) |
18 | | Erickson, and Christine (Tom) Watt and son, Phillip Baratta; |
19 | | and his grandchildren, Kyra Erickson Tetter, Kelsen Erickson, |
20 | | Rocco Watt, and Anthony Watt; therefore, be it

22 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
