SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Francis F. Crivello of Alton,
4who died on July 20, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Francis Crivello was born in Alton on March 4,
61916, to Michael and Mary (Caito) Crivello; he married Alma
7"Maxine" Blaine on August 27, 1947; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Francis Crivello joined the U.S. Army to serve his
9country on December 22, 1942; he had his basic training at
10Cheyene, Wyoming, and further training at Shenango,
11Pennsylvania, and Newport News, Virginia; he was ordered to
12Casablanca, Morocco, and then sent to Oran, Algiers, and
13finally reached Sicily, Italy; his unit, the Fifth Army Company
14448, invaded Naples in June 1943, and fought all through Italy;
15he took part in the invasion of Anzio and then proceeded to
16Rome, Peambino, Milan, and then to Austria where the war ended;
17he returned to Alton in October of 1945; he was stationed at
18Lake Charles, Louisiana, during the Korean War; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Francis Crivello worked at Union Electric for over
2040 years and retired in 1982; his main hobbies were airplanes
21and antique cars; he was a member of the Alton Antique Car
22Association, a private pilot, and a familiar face at the

1regional airport; his life's highlight was being able to take
2the World War II Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Francis Crivello was preceded in death by his
4parents, Michael and Mary Crivello; his wife, Alma "Maxine"
5Blaine; his brothers, Anthony, Gasper, William, Joseph, Leo
6"Pip", and George; and his sisters, Josephine Caldarera, Mona
7Englebrech, Virginia St. Cin, and Lucia Kasten; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Francis Crivello is survived by his daughters,
9Nancy K. (Larry) Dallas, Marsha Crivello, and Marilee
10Carivello; his son, Michael (Julia Tai) Crivello; his
11grandchildren, Andrea Crivello, Sean Crivello, Merric (Becca)
12Shank, Allegra Shank, Rick Wooley, Roger (Dee) Wooley, and
13Carolina Stark; his seven great-grandchildren and three
14great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Eugene (Virginia)
15Crivello; and his dear friend, Mona Wilson; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Francis Crivello, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Francis Crivello as an expression of
