SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Myrtle H. Grant, who passed away on June
424, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was born on February 8, 1921, in Wood
6River; she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Caroline
7(Neff) Friederich; she married Gaylen R. Grant on August 20,
81949, at St. Bernard's in Wood River; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Prior to having her children, Myrtle Grant was
10employed at her father's grocery store, "Friederich's", in Wood
11River; she also worked at Shell Oil and the First National Bank
12of Alton; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic
14Church for 60 years; she was also involved with the RCIA
15Program and the Arms of Love; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant enjoyed swimming, biking, the
17outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was preceded in death by her parents;
19her husband, Gaylen; and her brother, Leo Friederich; and

1    WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant is survived by her daughters, Carol
2(Michael) Redd and Linda (Chris) Potts; her sons, William
3(Mary) Grant, Richard (Holly) Grant, and Joseph (Fay) Grant;
4her 16 grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; her
5brothers, Leonard (Lucille) Friederich, James (Patricia)
6Friederich, and Eugene (Carmelita) Friederich; and her many
7nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10her family and friends, the passing of Myrtle H. Grant; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Myrtle Grant as an expression of our
14sympathy.
