SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph J. Berardi of Canton, who passed
4away on June 21, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi was born on February 14, 1938, in
6Pekin; his parents were Joseph and Emogene (Monroe) Berardi;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi graduated from Pekin High School in
91956, where he played many sports; he subsequently attended
10Spoon River College, Sangamon State University, and Western
11Illinois University; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi served with pride and distinction
13in the United States Air Force for 4 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi was employed as a home builder with
15his father's construction company for many years; he later
16worked as an entrepreneur and a sales consultant in the
17recycling industry for small businesses and Fortune 500
18companies; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi served on the Fulton County Board
20for 4 years and the Canton City Council for 4 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi enjoyed slow pitch softball, golf,
2boat racing, flying his plane, woodworking, landscaping,
3designing creations from brick and stone, politics, traveling,
4and cooking for and entertaining his friends and family; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi was preceded in death by his
6parents and his sister, Betty Lou Petri; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Joseph Berardi is survived by his wife, Deborah
8(Mayhew) Berardi; his daughters, Lane (Kevin) Hampton and Lana
9Berardi; his grandchildren, L, K, J, and M Hampton; and his
10many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of Joseph J. Berardi; and
14be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Joseph Berardi as an expression of
17our sympathy.
