2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Robert L. "Sonny" Albertine of |
4 | | Carlinville, who passed away on May 24, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was born on September 21, 1925, |
6 | | in Carlinville; his parents were Pete and Josephine (Ossola) |
7 | | Albertine; he married Norma E. Watters on May 27, 1954 in |
8 | | Springfield; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was a graduate of Carlinville |
10 | | High School; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine served his country as a member of |
12 | | the United States Navy during World War II in the South |
13 | | Pacific; he was the recipient of 2 Battle Stars for his service |
14 | | during the war; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was a plumber by trade and was |
16 | | employed by the Illinois Secretary of State; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine served as a precinct |
18 | | committeeman for the Democratic Party and served as the |
19 | | organization's chairman for several years; he also served as a |
20 | | Carlinville City Alderman for over 39 years; and
|
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was a member of Ss. Mary and |
2 | | Joseph Catholic Church; and |
3 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine enjoyed watching Illini sports |
4 | | and the Green Bay Packers; he was an avid bowler in his younger |
5 | | years; he also attended all of his granddaughter's activities |
6 | | and sporting events and was their biggest fan; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine was preceded in death by his |
8 | | wife, Norma; his parents; his sister, Sylvia Vozel; and his |
9 | | nephew; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Albertine is survived by his son, Lynden R. |
11 | | "Alby" Albertine (Jill); his grandchildren, Madeline and Lydia |
12 | | Albertine, and his 3 step-children; therefore, be it
|
13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
15 | | his family and friends, the passing of Robert L. "Sonny" |
16 | | Albertine; and be it further

17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
18 | | presented to the family of Robert Albertine as an expression of |
19 | | our sympathy.
