2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Milton C. "Milt" Jensen, mayor of Beach |
4 | | Park, who passed away on March 31, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, He was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin; he flew his |
6 | | first airplane, a Piper Cub, when he was 16 years old; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, He was a 37-year veteran of United Airlines and |
8 | | was active in the Retired United Pilots' Association, the Zion |
9 | | Benton American Legion Post #865, and the Zion Benton Loyal |
10 | | Order of the Moose; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, He served as mayor of Zion in the 1970s and was in |
12 | | his fourth term as the mayor of Beach Park; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Along with flying and his public service, he had |
14 | | numerous hobbies, most of which were related to computers; the |
15 | | majority of his focus was on his large and devoted family; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Milton Jensen was married to the love of his life, |
17 | | Ina (nee Lyons), for almost 61 years; he is also survived by |
18 | | his children, Don (Sue), Glenn (Cynthia), Rich (Cindy), Phil |
19 | | (Sandy), Julie Gonka (Dennis), Liane Leicht (Frankie Kaiser), |
20 | | and Connie Gill (Paul); his 20 grandchildren; and his 12 |
