2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Valeria Joyce Madison; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Valeria Madison was born on July 6, 1948, in |
5 | | Waukegan; her parents were William and Rosa Madison; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Valeria Madison was educated in the Waukegan |
7 | | Public School District; she later worked for the District; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Valeria Madison joined Antioch Baptist Church at a |
9 | | young age; she later moved her membership to First Corinthian |
10 | | Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of late Rev. |
11 | | Peter Goudeaux, and the current Pastor, Rev. Eugene Roberson; |
12 | | she served in various capacities in the church, including the |
13 | | Voices of Corinthian choir, and helped with the annual stage |
14 | | play, He Decided to Die; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Valeria Madison was preceded in death by her |
16 | | parents; her brothers, Vernon "Bird", Clarence Dwayne, and |
17 | | William "Bobby Joe" Madison III; her foster brother, Fleming |
18 | | Davis, Jr.; and her foster sister, Inez Jackson; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Valeria Madison is survived by her brother, |
20 | | Winfrey Madison; her sister, Ody Madison; her niece, Angela |
