SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David L. Droste, who passed away on January 31, 2012; and

WHEREAS, David Droste was born on September 4, 1933, in Alton; he was the son of Theodore and Mary (Brinkman) Droste; he married the former Anne Jeannette Maher on July 10, 1954, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, David Droste attended St. Ambrose Grade School and graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1952; and

WHEREAS, David Droste served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, David Droste retired from Labor Local No. 218; he was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, David Droste was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Droste, and his sister, Sister Mary Ann Droste, D.P.; and

WHEREAS, David Droste is survived by his wife, Anne; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Mike Wickenhauser, Laura and David Dixon, Jennifer and Tim Bonnell, Jane and Steve Bradshaw, and Lisa and Dan Gentry; his son, David John Droste; his grandchildren, Stephen and Eric Wickenhauser, Matt and Amanda Cress, Danielle, LeAnne, and Aaron Bonnell, Suzanne Stephan and her husband, Dan, Kyle Bradshaw, Jamie Gentry, and Katie Droste; his great-grandchildren, Joe and Luke Stephan; his brothers and sisters, Sister M. Juliana Droste, FSM, Sister M. Dolores Droste, OSU, George Droste, Paul Droste, Julia Mulrean, Agnes Hesse, Sister Clara Louise Droste, FSM, and Gertrude Droste; and his longtime Army buddy, Douglas "Scotty" Hall; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of David L. Droste; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Droste as an expression of our sympathy.
