2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Velma Hutte of Alton, who passed away on |
4 | | December 1, 2011; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was born on September 6, 1919, in |
6 | | Roxana; her parents were William and Minnie (Hamilton) Crews; |
7 | | at the age of 16, she married Rudolph Sowders Sr.; she later |
8 | | married Earl Hutte on June 21, 1961, in East St. Louis; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was employed as an inspector for the |
10 | | United States government at the Olin Corporation for 40 years |
11 | | until her retirement; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was a member of the United |
13 | | Presbyterian Church of Wood River; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte enjoyed traveling, flowers, and |
15 | | spending time with her grandchildren and her other family and |
16 | | friends; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was preceded in death by her husband, |
18 | | Earl Hutte; her parents; her son, Rudolph C. Sowders Jr.; and |
19 | | her sister, Ruth Dreisbach; and |
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Velma Hutte is survived by her daughter-in-law; |
2 | | Betty Sowders; her grandchildren, Rudolph Sowders III and his |
3 | | spouse, Susan, John Sowders and his spouse, Lee Ellen, Lisa |
4 | | Dublo and her spouse, Jeffrey Sr., Donna Droste, Jerry Sowders |
5 | | and his spouse, Donna, and Mark Sowders; her grandchildren, |
6 | | David Sowders, Angela Sowders, Matthew Sowders and his spouse, |
7 | | Victoria, Steven Sowders and his spouse, Michele, Logan |
8 | | Sowders, Kathy Sowders, Melissa and her spouse, Chris Dublo |
9 | | Winsel, Jeffrey Dublo Jr. and his spouse, Amanda, Michael |
10 | | Dublo, Joshua Droste and his spouse, Lindsey, Bethany Droste, |
11 | | Cole Sowders, and Natalie Sowders; her |

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
18 | | her family and friends, the passing of Velma Hutte; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Velma Hutte as an expression of our |
22 | | sympathy.
