SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rudolph T. "Rudy" Sepich of Canton, who
4passed away on November 20, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on September 12, 1924, in Canton to
6Mathew and Frances (Kosir) Sepich; he married Linda L. Ashby in
7Canton on May 15, 1948; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a United States Army veteran of World War
9II and a member of Canton American Legion Post No. 16; and
 
10    WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in
11Canton and was active as a coach in its basketball and baseball
12programs; he was retired from the International Harvester
13Company in Canton and was formerly the president of UAW Local
14No. 1357 and the UAW Retirees Club; he was formerly a member of
15the Canton Country Club and the Croatian Fraternal Union; he
16had been commissioner of the Canton Park District softball and
17baseball leagues and served as an official for all high school
18sports; and he was inducted into the Spoon River College Hall
19of Fame for his contribution to coaching; and
 
20    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents;

1    WHEREAS, Rudolph Sepich is survived by his children, Melani
2Sepich, Toni (Paul) Dillefeld, Judie (Dan) Thompson, David
3"Catt" (Linda) Sepich, Andrew (Ruth) Sepich, Paul (Annette)
4Sepich, and Bill Sepich; his grandchildren, Dennis, Jeremy,
5Chad, Jill, Amy, Brandon, Andy, Brian, Kelly, and Erika; his 16
6great-grandchildren; and his sister, Josephine Beaird;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10his family and friends, the passing of Rudolph Sepich; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Rudolph Sepich as a symbol of our
14sincere sympathy.
