2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Robert H. Schoeneweis of Wood River, who |
4 | | passed away on March 7, 2011; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, He was born March 1, 1912, in Bethalto, the son of |
6 | | William and Ruth (Silland) Schoeneweis; he married the former |
7 | | Ethel Lamm on November 4, 1933, in Hartford and they shared 64 |
8 | | years of marriage; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, They were lifetime members of the First United |
10 | | Methodist Church of Wood River; they were avid fishermen and |
11 | | enjoyed many years together fishing in Canada, Mexico, and |
12 | | Alaska and at their winter home in Okeechobee, Florida; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, He was a machinist and founded Wood River General |
14 | | Machine Works and Schoeneweis Tool & Die Co. Inc.; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death |
16 | | by his brothers, Bud, Warren, Clyde, and Kenneth (infant) |
17 | | Schoeneweis; his sisters, Virginia Voyles and Lorraine Yeager; |
18 | | his grandson, Brett Schoeneweis; his son-in-law, Wally |
19 | | Whipple; and his special friend, Shirley Faircloth; and

20 | | WHEREAS, Robert Schoeneweis is survived by his sons and |
