2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Glenn Roberson of Peoria, who passed away |
4 | | on March 10, 2011; and

5 | | WHEREAS, He was born on November 3, 1938, in Chidester, |
6 | | Arkansas; he married Angela "Nickie" Murray on April 28, 1984, |
7 | | in Elon, North Carolina; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, He received his bachelor's degree from Illinois |
9 | | State University and his master's degree from Bradley |
10 | | University; he began his career as a teacher at Irving Grade |
11 | | School and a sociology instructor at St. Francis School of |
12 | | Nursing; for more than 27 years, he was a well-known college |
13 | | administrator at Illinois Central College, where he served as |
14 | | Vice President of Student Services and Vice President of School |
15 | | and State Relations; and

16 | | WHEREAS,
He was affiliated with various educational, |
17 | | professional, and community organizations, including the |
18 | | Peoria and Illinois Education Associations, the Illinois ACT |
19 | | Advisory Board, the Peoria Race Relations Committee, the Peoria |
20 | | Tri-County Urban League, and the Peoria Jaycees; he was a |
21 | | sports enthusiast and an avid reader; and
