3 | | Sec. 16.
(1) Any city, village or incorporated town, having |
4 | | a population of
500,000 or more may, by an ordinance containing |
5 | | provisions substantially
the same as those in this Act and |
6 | | specifying educational or experience
requirements equivalent |
7 | | to those prescribed in this Act, provide for a
board of |
8 | | plumbing examiners to conduct examinations for, and to issue,
|
9 | | suspend, or revoke, plumbers' licenses, within such city, |
10 | | village or
incorporated town. Upon the enactment of such |
11 | | ordinance the provisions of
this act shall not apply within any |
12 | | such municipality except as otherwise
provided herein.

13 | | (2) Any person licensed as a plumber pursuant to such |
14 | | ordinance, or
licensed by the Department under this Act, may |
15 | | engage in plumbing anywhere
in this State.

16 | | (3) Any board of plumbing examiners created pursuant to |
17 | | this Section
shall maintain a current record similar to that |
18 | | required of the Director by
Section 8 of this Act, and shall |
19 | | provide the Department with a copy
thereof. The Department |
20 | | shall be advised of changes in such record at least
every six |
21 | | months.

22 | | (4) In the event that the plumbing contractor's license is |
23 | | suspended or revoked by any city, village, or incorporated |
24 | | town, having a population of 500,000 or more, the city, |
25 | | village, or incorporated town shall notify the Department. |
