Amends the Airport Authorities Act. Provides than an airport authority has the power to invest in, plan, market, and otherwise support intermodal transportation. Sets forth powers concerning construction, shuttle services, financial support, and marketing. Defines "intermodal transportation". Further provides that no airport authority may apply for federal funding for intercity bus or train projects without approval of the Governor.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Airport Authorities Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 8.16 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 5/8.16 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 8.16. Intermodal transportation. An Authority shall |
| 8 | | have the power to invest in, plan, market, and otherwise |
| 9 | | support intermodal transportation within the area served by the |
| 10 | | Authority. This includes, but is not limited to, the power: |
| 11 | | (1) to provide financial capital support for the |
| 12 | | construction or rehabilitation of a bus, rail, or |
| 13 | | intermodal station either at the airport or at a different |
| 14 | | location within the authority's jurisdiction; |
| 15 | | (2) to provide shuttle services from existing bus or |
| 16 | | rail stations within the authority's jurisdiction to and |
| 17 | | from the airport; |
| 18 | | (3) to provide financial operating support to |
| 19 | | intercity bus or train services; and |
| 20 | | (4) to create marketing materials, including a |
| 21 | | website, of the schedules of existing intercity bus and |
| 22 | | train services. |
| 23 | | For the purposes of this Section, "intermodal |
