Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 concerning the offense of concealing or aiding a fugitive. Eliminates the exemption from violating the statute for persons standing in the relation of husband, wife, parent,
child, brother, or sister to the offender.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 31-5 as follows:
|

7 | | Sec. 31-5. Concealing or aiding a fugitive.

8 | | Every person not standing in the relation of husband, wife, |
9 | | parent,
child, brother or sister to the offender, who, with |
10 | | intent to prevent the
apprehension of the offender, conceals |
11 | | his knowledge that an offense has
been committed or harbors, |
12 | | aids or conceals the offender, commits a Class 4
felony.
