SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
720 ILCS 5/31-5  from Ch. 38, par. 31-5

    Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 concerning the offense of concealing or aiding a fugitive. Eliminates the exemption from violating the statute for persons standing in the relation of husband, wife, parent, child, brother, or sister to the offender.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by changing
5Section 31-5 as follows:
 
6    (720 ILCS 5/31-5)  (from Ch. 38, par. 31-5)
7    Sec. 31-5. Concealing or aiding a fugitive.
8    Every person not standing in the relation of husband, wife,
9parent, child, brother or sister to the offender, who, with
10intent to prevent the apprehension of the offender, conceals
11his knowledge that an offense has been committed or harbors,
12aids or conceals the offender, commits a Class 4 felony.
