70 ILCS 1205/4-4c new











     Amends the Park District Code. Provides that to take advantage of the increased limiting rate for levy year 2009 approved by a majority of voters at the general primary election held on February 2, 2010, the Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of Forest Park may adopt an additional or supplemental budget by a vote of a majority of the full membership of the board to defray expenses and liabilities of the park district to be incurred for corporate purposes of the district during that fiscal year. Provides that the additional or supplemental budget shall be regarded as an amendment of the annual budget for the fiscal year in which it is adopted. Contains other provisions. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning local government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Park District Code is amended  by adding 
5
Section 4-4c as follows:

    (70 ILCS 1205/4-4c new)

    Sec. 4-4c. Additional or supplemental budget. To take 
8
advantage of the increased limiting rate for levy year 2009 
9
approved by a majority of voters voting on the proposition at 
10
the general primary election held on February 2, 2010, the 
11
Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of Forest Park 
12
may adopt an additional or supplemental budget under the sole 
13
authority of this Section by a vote of a majority of the full 
14
membership of the board, any other provision of this Article to 
15
the contrary notwithstanding, in and by which the additional or 
16
supplemental budget the board shall appropriate the additional 
17
sums of money as it may find necessary to defray expenses and 
18
liabilities of the district to be incurred for corporate 
19
purposes of the district during that fiscal year, but not in 
20
excess of the additional funds estimated to be available by the 
21
voted increased limiting rate for levy year 2009. The 
22
additional or supplemental budget shall be regarded as an 
23
amendment of the annual budget for the fiscal year in which it

is adopted. The board may immediately levy the additional tax 
2
for corporate purposes to equal the amount of the additional 
3
sums of money appropriated in the additional or supplemental 
4
budget.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
6
becoming law.
