| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 8-3-5 as follows:
|

| Sec. 8-3-5.
All taxes levied by a municipality, except |

| special assessments
for local improvements, shall be uniform |

| upon all taxable property and

persons within the limits of |

| the municipality, and no property shall be
exempt therefrom |
| 11 |
| other than such property as may be exempt from taxation
under |
| 12 |
| the constitution and general laws of the State. |
