| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 333 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |

| 5-1135 as follows:

| (55 ILCS 5/5-1135 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 5-1135. Rock Island County Board and officers; freeze |
| 8 |
| compensation. The compensation of all county officers and |
| 9 |
| county board members of Rock Island County is frozen at the |
| 10 |
| amount those officers and members were actually receiving on |
| 11 |
| May 1, 2010, and any purported increases in compensation, |
| 12 |
| including without limitation any additional compensation for |
| 13 |
| serving as a committee chairperson, taking effect on or after |
| 14 |
| May 1, 2010 are null and void.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
