|
Amends the Downstate Police and Downstate Firefighter Articles of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that, if not otherwise a party, the municipality is entitled to appear, as a matter of right, in any proceeding involving a participant or a beneficiary under the Articles that might result in a final administrative decision by the board. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding |
5 |
| Sections 3-148.5 and 4-139.5 as follows: |

| Sec. 3-148.5. Right of employer to intervene. If not |
8 |
| otherwise a party, the municipality is entitled to appear, as a |
9 |
| matter of right, in any proceeding involving a participant or a |
10 |
| beneficiary under this Article that might result in a final |

| administrative decision by the board. |
