| AN ACT concerning criminal law.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 24-2.2 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (720 ILCS 5/24-2.2) (from Ch. 38, par. 24-2.2)

| Sec. 24-2.2. Manufacture, sale or transfer of bullets or |
| 8 |
| shells
represented to
be armor piercing bullets, dragon's |
| 9 |
| breath shotgun
shells, bolo shells, or
flechette shells.

| (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of
this Section, |
| 11 |
| it it is unlawful for any person to knowingly manufacture, |
| 12 |
| sell,
offer to sell, or transfer any bullet or shell which is |
| 13 |
| represented to be
an armor piercing bullet, a dragon's breath |
| 14 |
| shotgun shell, a bolo shell, or a
flechette shell as defined in |
| 15 |
| Section 24-2.1 of this Code.

| 16 |
| (b) Exemptions. This Section does not apply to or affect |
| 17 |
| any person
authorized
under Section 24-2.1 to manufacture, |
| 18 |
| sell, purchase, possess, or carry any
armor piercing bullet or |
| 19 |
| any dragon's breath shotgun shell,
bolo shell, or flechette |
| 20 |
| shell with respect to activities which are within
the lawful
|
| 21 |
| scope of the exemption therein granted.
|
| 22 |
| (c) An information or indictment based upon a violation of |
| 23 |
| this Section
need not negate any exemption herein contained. |
