| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Harold George McKay on |
4 |
| Tuesday, January 18, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born in Chicago on December 22, 1941, to |
6 |
| Claude and Mandella McKay; his wife, Angela Williams, preceded |
7 |
| him in death; together, they were the parents of three |
8 |
| children; he married Barbara McKay, and together they are the |
9 |
| parents of seven children; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McKay valiantly served his country as a member |
11 |
| of the United States Army; he worked for more than 20 years at |
12 |
| the Austin Peoples Action Center (APAC); he was a member of |
13 |
| Faith Community Missionary Baptist Church; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, He was a loving and affectionate person, always |
15 |
| ready to greet you with a hug and a smile; he was loved by all |
16 |
| who knew him; he was a dedicated father and friend, always |
17 |
| willing to give his last to anyone who needed it; his favorite |
18 |
| hobbies were fishing, dancing, and sports; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Harold George McKay has been deeply |
20 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Barbara McKay; his sons, |
21 |
| John (Sharon), Harold Jr., Eric, Anthony (Tori), Catheuss |
22 |
| (K.K.), and Angelo; his daughters, Cynthia (John), Michelle, |
23 |
| and Rosalind (Jude); his brothers, Freeman (Mary) and Claude |
24 |
| (Jean); his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Williams and Cynthia |
25 |
| Williams; his godchildren, Tiffany, NeNe, and Chaz; his special |
26 |
| companion, Henrietta; his special friends, Robert Sykes and |
27 |
| Hurley Carter; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, |
28 |
| relatives, and friends; he was also preceded in death by his |
29 |
| son, Phillip; his brothers, Robert, Willie Joe, Ceasar, and |
30 |
| Cecil; and his sisters, Mozell, Ester, Ruth, and Claudette; |
