| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Sister M. |
4 |
| Theotima Plass upon the completion of her active service to St. |
5 |
| Anthony's Health Center; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Sister M. Theotima holds a Bachelor of Science in |
7 |
| Nursing and a Master of Hospital Administration from Saint |
8 |
| Louis University; she entered the Convent of the Sisters of St. |
9 |
| Francis of the Martyr St. George on March 30, 1948; was |
10 |
| received into the Novitiate on October 4, 1948; took her first |
11 |
| vows on October 4, 1950; and her final vows on September 17, |
12 |
| 1955; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, She came to America from Germany in 1952; she was |
14 |
| stationed in St. Louis for about nine months, while she studied |
15 |
| English; she then transferred to Alton, where she studied |
16 |
| English intensely and helped out at Saint Anthony's Infirmary; |
17 |
| and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, She became Supervisor of Medical Nursing at Saint |
19 |
| Anthony's Hospital in 1958; throughout the years, she has held |
20 |
| several positions at Saint Anthony's, including Director of |
21 |
| Nursing Service, Assistant Administrator, Administrator, |
22 |
| President, Director of Mission Services, and Chairman of the |
23 |
| Board of Directors; she also served as an Administrative |
24 |
| Resident at Loretto Hospital in Chicago from June of 1962 to |
25 |
| 1963; and
|
26 |
| WHEREAS, Sister M. Theotima has held multiple leadership |
27 |
| positions at Saint Anthony's including serving on the Governing |
28 |
| Board; she is active in numerous professional organizations as |
29 |
| well; in addition to her professional responsibilities, she |
30 |
| served as Superior to the Sisters of Saint Francis of the |
31 |
| Martyr St. George in Alton from 1963 to 1969, as Vice |
