| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Jeanne Hatfield retired from her position as City |
| 3 |
| Clerk of Johnston City on Friday, March 17, 2006, after nearly |
| 4 |
| 26 years of service; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She began her career at city hall as Deputy Clerk |
| 6 |
| under Mary William, whom Mrs. Hatfield was appointed to replace |
| 7 |
| after she retired; Mrs. Hatfield was elected to the position in |
| 8 |
| 1985 and has been re-elected as City Clerk every election since |
| 9 |
| then; she has served with five mayors; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, She is a native of Johnston City and graduated |
| 11 |
| from the town's high school in 1953; she and her husband, Jack, |
| 12 |
| have five children, Mary Jane Hatfield, Donna Lawrence, Bill |
| 13 |
| Hatfield, Karen Staples, and Natalie Jamison; they have eight |
| 14 |
| grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, In her retirement, she plans to play golf, |
| 16 |
| possibly take up cross stitch again, and just do whatever she |
| 17 |
| feels like doing; therefore, be it
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 20 |
| we congratulate Jeanne Hatfield on the occasion of her |
| 21 |
| retirement as City Clerk of Johnston City; and be it further
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 23 |
| presented to Mrs. Hatfield as an expression of our esteem and |
| 24 |
| our best wishes for a relaxing retirement.
