| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of L.G. |
4 |
| Wallace of Brookport on Friday, March 17, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He served two tours in the United States Army, |
6 |
| serving in Occupied Japan; he was a 33rd-Degree Master Mason, a |
7 |
| lifetime member of the Farmers Lodge 232 of Brookport, and a |
8 |
| member of the Brookport American Legion and VFW; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Wallace was a member of Calvary Fellowship |
10 |
| Baptist Church in Metropolis; he was a retired machinist with |
11 |
| the Tennessee Valley Authority Shawnee Steam Plant in Paducah |
12 |
| and was also employed with the Secretary of State of Illinois |
13 |
| as a senior citizen coordinator; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, He was very active in the Massac County Democratic |
15 |
| Party, serving as a precinct committeeman for many years; he |
16 |
| was known as "Mr. Democrat" of Massac County; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of L.G. Wallace has been deeply felt |
18 |
| by many, especially his wife, Elizabeth Wallace; his sons, |
19 |
| Brian Wallace and wife Dana and Brent Wallace and wife Connie; |
20 |
| his daughters, Mary Hockman and husband Rick, Barbara Olroyd |
21 |
| and husband Steve, and Crystal Davenport and husband Shane; his |
22 |
| twelve grandchildren; his great-grandchild; his sister, Verlee |
23 |
| Suttles; and his many nieces and nephews; he was preceded in |
24 |
| death by his parents, Clarence and Pearl Swinford Wallace, and |
25 |
| his brother, Thurman "Pat" Wallace; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
28 |
| we mourn the passing of L.G. Wallace, and we extend our deepest |
29 |
| sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
30 |
| him; and be it further
