| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Hanover |
4 |
| Park Mayor Irwin A. Bock on Thursday, March 9, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mayor Bock had served as Village President of |
6 |
| Hanover Park since 1997; he was re-elected twice, both times |
7 |
| running unopposed; prior to serving as mayor, he was a |
8 |
| three-term Village Trustee first elected in 1985; he is |
9 |
| remembered for his candid commentary, positive perspective, |
10 |
| and sustaining support; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure as mayor, numerous public |
12 |
| improvement projects and programs were completed, including |
13 |
| the completion of the Lake Street reconstruction, the |
14 |
| development of the Church Street and Lake Street condominium |
15 |
| complexes, and construction of a new fire station was |
16 |
| initiated; residential and commercial development flourished; |
17 |
| water and waste water systems were improved; and his guidance |
18 |
| was instrumental in all Village activity; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to holding the Chief Elected position |
20 |
| in Hanover Park, Mayor Bock was extensively involved with |
21 |
| intergovernmental agencies; he was serving as President of the |
22 |
| Northwest Municipal Conference, a council of governments |
23 |
| representing 50 suburban communities in northwest Cook County; |
24 |
| he also was Chairman of the Board of Directors for DUCOMM, a |
25 |
| public safety dispatch agency, which provides police and fire |
26 |
| communications for numerous DuPage County municipalities, a |
27 |
| board member of NSACI, the Northwest Suburban Alliance for |
28 |
| Commerce and Industry, and on the Board of Directors of the |
29 |
| Joint Action Water Agency (JAWA), which supplies Lake Michigan |
30 |
| water to seven communities; in addition, over his 23-year |
31 |
| public service career, Mayor Bock served as Vice President of |
32 |
| the Illinois Municipal League and was a member of the |
