| WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth C. Hendriksen is retiring after 33 |
3 |
| years in education; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Hendriksen holds a Ph.D. in educational |
5 |
| administration from Southern Illinois University at |
6 |
| Carbondale, a Specialist in Education degree from Eastern |
7 |
| Illinois University, and two Master of Science degrees, one in |
8 |
| administrative certification from Southern Illinois University |
9 |
| at Edwardsville and one in guidance and counseling from Western |
10 |
| Illinois University; he earned a B.A. in biology from Lewis |
11 |
| University and is a graduate of Weber High School in Chicago; |
12 |
| and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He has served as the Superintendent of Schools of |
14 |
| Mt. Zion Community Unit School District #3 since 1985; the |
15 |
| district includes 2,450 students at five schools; prior to |
16 |
| serving as superintendent, he was principal of Mt. Zion High |
17 |
| School and Carrollton High School; he also worked as director |
18 |
| of guidance at Carrollton Community Unit School District #1; |
19 |
| and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure at Mt. Zion, numerous |
21 |
| renovations, new buildings, and additions have been completed; |
22 |
| two referenda were passed; he managed an annual budget of $18 |
23 |
| to $20 million; he initiated the Mt. Zion Foundation for |
24 |
| Quality Education; and achievement scores have placed the high |
25 |
| school in the top 50 three years straight; and |
26 |
| WHEREAS, He is a member of several professional |
27 |
| organizations, including the Illinois Association of School |
28 |
| Administrators (member of the board of directors), the American |
29 |
| Association of School Administrators (member and served on the |
30 |
| advisory board), Partners in Education (board member and |
31 |
| chairman), the Central Illinois Education Service Center #14 |
