| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Cynthia |
4 |
| "Cindy" Whalen of Edgebrook, Illinois September 26, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Whalen was a graduate of St. Pancratius High |
6 |
| School and attended DePaul University; She worked as an |
7 |
| administrative assistant, office manager, and advisor for |
8 |
| DePaul University's College of Commerce graduate school; and |
9 |
| WHEREAS, Cindy Whalen served DePaul from 1965 to 1980 as a |
10 |
| crucial element in DePaul's business school graduate program; |
11 |
| she was known as the front door and face of the graduate school |
12 |
| for many years; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Whalen enjoyed a successful career as an |
14 |
| interior designer; she worked for 20 years for Simply Stylish |
15 |
| Interiors and was beloved by her clients; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Cindy Whalen was a member of St. Mary of the Woods |
17 |
| Church and Altar and Rosary Society as well as involved in the |
18 |
| Edgebrook Women's Club; She was active in Cub Scouts, Boy |
19 |
| Scouts, and many other civic and charitable endeavors; and |
20 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Whalen is remembered for her sunny, |
21 |
| compassionate, and fearlessly determined outlook on life; her |
22 |
| passing has been deeply felt by many, especially her husband, |
23 |
| Edward; her son, Edward; her mother, Lucille Wojtowicz; |
24 |
| siblings, Adrienne (Michael) Burns, Susan (Arnold) |
25 |
| Wojtowicz-Kellman, and James Wojtowicz; mother-in-law, June; |
26 |
| and nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
