HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Pete
4 Moschino of Coello on May 21, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Moschino served as the Village of Coello's
6 mayor for 44 years, having first taken office in 1961; and
 
7     WHEREAS, During his tenure, the Village saw its first water
8 and sewer service and street paving program; he is also
9 credited with finding and helping with grant opportunities and
10 applications; with the help of seemingly endless Sunday chicken
11 and dumpling benefit dinners prepared by the Coello Dumpling
12 Gang and a grant, the Village was able to build a new community
13 center; he also helped with grants for a new City Hall, fire
14 truck, and housing rehabilitation for residents; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was born June 26, 1935, to Jim and Madeline
16 (Yubaudi) Moschino; he married Pat (Youngman) Moschino on
17 December 31, 1957; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was a farmer and a retired coal miner for Arch
19 Coal; he was a member of the Italian Lodge in DuQuoin and
20 attended Coello Baptist Church; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Pete Moschino is felt by all who
23 knew and loved him, especially his wife of 47 years, Pat; his
24 children, Mark and Kathie Moschino, Kathy and Jim Lind, and
25 Tricia and Charles Calloni; his grandchildren, Abijah and Holly
26 Queen, Christina Moschino, Andy Moschino, Calebe Calloni, Josh
27 Calloni, Dustin Lind, and Spenser Lind; his
28 great-grandchildren, Isreal and Isaac Queen; and his brother,
29 Frank and wife Betty Moschino; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we mourn the passing of Pete Moschino and extend our sincerest
4 condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it
5 further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
