| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Police Chief Peter J. Fee is retiring from the |
3 |
| Hazel Crest Police Department after more than 30 years of |
4 |
| service; a retirement celebration will be held in his honor on |
5 |
| Thursday, May 12, 2005; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Fee began his career as a police officer in |
7 |
| 1974 and was later promoted to the ranks of sergeant and |
8 |
| lieutenant; in 1995, he was named the village's Chief of |
9 |
| Police; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure, he saw the police department |
11 |
| double in size and greatly expand its services; and |
12 |
| WHEREAS, He is credited with expanding community policing |
13 |
| with a beat representative program, Citizen Police Academy, |
14 |
| Neighborhood Watch, bicycle patrol, and school patrols for the |
15 |
| citizens of the Village of Hazel Crest; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure as chief, the department earned |
17 |
| national accreditation and subsequent re-accreditations for |
18 |
| meeting or exceeding more than 400 nationally recognized law |
19 |
| enforcement standards; he served as president of the South |
20 |
| Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police in 2004 and has won a |
21 |
| variety of awards for his leadership; therefore, be it
|
22 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
24 |
| we congratulate Police Chief Peter J. Fee on the occasion of |
25 |
| his retirement from the Hazel Crest Police Department after |
26 |
| more than 30 years of service; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to Chief Fee as an expression of our respect and |
29 |
| esteem and with best wishes for a relaxing retirement.
