| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Army Pvt. Jeff Wallace of Hoopeston, age 20, was |
3 |
| killed in Iraq on May 23, 2005, when his convoy was hit by a |
4 |
| roadside bomb; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Pvt. Wallace was a Hoopeston Area High School |
6 |
| graduate; he was a member of his high school football team, |
7 |
| played linebacker, and liked heavy metal music; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He joined the Army after he graduated from high |
9 |
| school and had been deployed to Iraq in January of 2005; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, He will be remembered as having a real good |
11 |
| outlook on life, a big heart; he was always in a good mood, |
12 |
| always happy, always trying to find the best in everything; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Pvt. Jeff Wallace is deeply felt by |
14 |
| all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Sara; his |
15 |
| parents, Brian (Leona) Wallace and Tammy (Tracy) Grabinski; his |
16 |
| sister, Michelle Weber; his three brothers; and all his |
17 |
| friends; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Throughout history, brave Americans have shed
|
19 |
| their blood during wars and conflicts to preserve, protect,
and |
20 |
| defend the foundation of the principles of democracy and
|
21 |
| freedom; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
24 |
| we honor Pvt. Jeff Wallace for his commitment, dedication, and |
25 |
| ultimate sacrifice in the service of his family, community, and |
26 |
| country; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That we pray for the safety and well-being of |
28 |
| Pvt. Jeff Wallace's fellow service members as they continue to |
