| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, S. Watson Tidball of Greenville will celebrate his |
3 |
| 80th birthday on July 7, 2005; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, He has been and active citizen of Greenville and |
5 |
| Bond County since 1947 when he came from Canada to Greenville |
6 |
| as a student at Greenville College; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Tidball has been involved in the Chamber of |
8 |
| Commerce, Commercial Club, the City Planning Commission, and |
9 |
| has devoted hours of community service to the Bond County |
10 |
| Senior Center, serving as secretary for a number of years; he |
11 |
| has served as Master of Ceremonies for the Bond County Fair |
12 |
| Beauty Pageant, entertained church and civic groups with his |
13 |
| music and comedy routine, and has given travelogues of his many |
14 |
| trips throughout the world; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, He and his wife, Bonnie, have been tour guides for |
16 |
| many local citizens on worldwide trips; he is a frequent Master |
17 |
| of Ceremonies at Fair Oaks Nursing Home events and regularly |
18 |
| visits the "elderly" in nursing homes in Greenville; he is a |
19 |
| 1997 recipient of the Gerald Turley Memorial Award given by the |
20 |
| Chamber of Commerce, and he received an honorary Doctorate of |
21 |
| Public Service from Greenville College; he has been involved in |
22 |
| countless other organizations and events too numerous to name; |
23 |
| and
|
24 |
| WHEREAS, All six of the Tidball children attended Bond |
25 |
| County Community Unit #2 schools from kindergarten through high |
26 |
| school and all graduated from Greenville College; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his work at Greenville College, Dr. |
28 |
| Tidball has worked at the Donnell-Weigand Funeral Home for over |
29 |
| 50 years as their accountant; he provides income tax services |
30 |
| for a number of Greenville residents; he has assisted numerous |
