| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Timothy Credo is one of 20 students named to the |
3 |
| 2005 All-USA High School Academic First Team, USA TODAY's |
4 |
| recognition program for outstanding high school students; each |
5 |
| receives a trophy and a $2,500 cash award; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, The 20 students were selected from more than 1,600 |
7 |
| nominees nationwide as representatives of all outstanding |
8 |
| students; judges considered academics, leadership, and most |
9 |
| importantly, how students have extended their intellectual |
10 |
| abilities beyond the classroom; and |
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Credo is the son of Robert and Margaret Credo; |
12 |
| he is a student at Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in |
13 |
| Aurora; he plans to attend Harvard University; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, He developed a particle detector that cuts timing |
15 |
| uncertainty to the picosecond, or trillionth of a second, for |
16 |
| which he gave a poster presentation at the Nuclear Science |
17 |
| Symposium in Rome; he received the $75,000 second-place |
18 |
| scholarship in the Intel Science Talent Search and the Siemens |
19 |
| Award for Advanced Placement; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, He is a member of the U.S. Physics Team and was |
21 |
| selected to present research on billiard systems at the |
22 |
| American Association for Advancement of Science annual |
23 |
| meeting; he is a varsity swimmer and the assistant editor in |
24 |
| chief of the school newspaper; he scored an impressive 1600 on |
25 |
| the SAT; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
28 |
| we congratulate Timothy Credo on being named to USA TODAY'S |
29 |
| 2005 All-USA High School Academic First Team; and be it further
