| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Pat O'Shaughnessy has been named the 72nd |
3 |
| recipient of the First Citizen award by the Danville AMBUCS |
4 |
| chapter; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. O'Shaughnessy was born on March 25, 1959, in |
6 |
| Peoria; he is a 1977 graduate of Catlin High School and a 1981 |
7 |
| graduate of Illinois State University, where he earned a B.S. |
8 |
| in Ag-Business and a B.A. in Economics; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, AMBUCS is a national service club dedicated to |
10 |
| creating opportunities for independence for people with |
11 |
| disabilities, especially children; each year, the Danville |
12 |
| chapter designates an area resident who has contributed |
13 |
| significantly to the community personally or professionally as |
14 |
| its First Citizen; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. O'Shaughnessy received a record 17 nominating |
16 |
| letters and stood out because of his involvement with numerous |
17 |
| activities, his selfless giving, leadership by example, and his |
18 |
| willingness to inspire others to get involved; and |
19 |
| WHEREAS, He is the co-owner of Vermilion County Title, |
20 |
| Inc., and was the chairman of the Danville Area United Way |
21 |
| campaign last year and will chair the campaign again this year; |
22 |
| he also chaired the first Festival of Trees, a holiday |
23 |
| fundraiser for Provena United Samaritans Medical Center |
24 |
| Foundation's outreach programs; he worked to rename the Catlin |
25 |
| Recreation Complex as the Don Lashment Recreation Complex in |
26 |
| memory of the long-time football coach at Catlin High School; |
27 |
| he has been involved with the hospital foundation, Palmer |
28 |
| Arena, the American Red Cross, Downtown Danville Inc., the |
29 |
| Danville Area Planning & Zoning Commission, Consumer Illinois |
30 |
| Water Co. Community Advisory Panel, and the Balloon Classic |
31 |
| steering committee; and |
