| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Mr. C. Richard "Dick" Ellis will be retiring from |
3 |
| his position as Village President of Minooka; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, He has served as Village President since 2001 and |
5 |
| prior to that served as a Village Trustee for eight years; he |
6 |
| was a member of the Grundy Economic Council for eight years and |
7 |
| served as Chairman of that council for three years; he |
8 |
| previously served as an Alderman on the Yorkville City Council |
9 |
| for two years; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure as Village President, there were |
11 |
| many positive accomplishments for the Village of Minooka, |
12 |
| including a boundary agreement with the Village of Channahon |
13 |
| and a new capital construction impact fee for the school |
14 |
| districts to provide money for building projects; he carefully |
15 |
| guided the annexation of approximately 1,300 acres of |
16 |
| residential property and 250 acres of industrial property and |
17 |
| established positive relations with many surrounding |
18 |
| communities, Will County, and Kendall County; he also led the |
19 |
| Village Board to increase open space requirements in the |
20 |
| Village and to protect the Aux Sable Watershed; and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis is the owner of C. Richard Ellis |
22 |
| Associates, LTD, a real estate referral business; he was |
23 |
| Principal of Hufford Junior High School, Dirksen Junior High |
24 |
| School, and Pershing Elementary School; he was president of the |
25 |
| Illinois Principals Association (life member), the Joliet |
26 |
| Principals Association, and the Northeastern Division of the |
27 |
| Illinois Education Association (life member); and
|
28 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis has lived in Minooka for 22 years; he is |
29 |
| the father of Jeffry Richard Ellis, Connie Jean Ament, Robert |
30 |
| Holman Ellis, Ryan Matthew Harrington, and Darcy Jennifer |
31 |
| Harrington; therefore, be it
