| WHEREAS, Paulie Eberhart of Plainfield, an 8-year-old |

| youngster who attends the Easter Seals Therapeutic Day School |
4 |
| in Tinley Park, has been selected as the 2004-2005 child |
5 |
| ambassador for Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, The Easter Seals Therapeutic Day School (school), |
7 |
| founded in 1999, serves children with autism who need |
8 |
| additional services and therapies to succeed at school; as |
9 |
| child ambassador, Paulie puts a real face on the people the |
10 |
| school serves and helps people understand why what the school |
11 |
| does is so important; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Paulie has made appearances at several events, |
13 |
| including an Easter Seals golf outing and holiday gala; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The school works with students from 35 different |
15 |
| school districts; each student works from a basic curriculum |
16 |
| set by his or her school district and additional services are |
17 |
| offered based on each child's needs; the school has 64 separate |
18 |
| curricula and assists students up to the age of 21; the |
19 |
| school's state-of-the-art sensory room gives students a place |
20 |
| where they can control their environment; and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, Sixty-four students attend classes at the school, |
22 |
| which operates year round and offers speech, behavior, |
23 |
| vocational, and occupational therapy; during the summer |
24 |
| months, staff members increase outdoor and recreational |
25 |
| activities; and
|
26 |
| WHEREAS, The ultimate goal of the school is to help |
27 |
| students progress to a level where they can return to their |
28 |
| home school districts; and
|
29 |
| WHEREAS, There has been a huge explosion in the incidence |
