| WHEREAS, After 24 years of dedicated service with the |
3 |
| Village of Northbrook, Lona N. Louis will retire on April 26, |
4 |
| 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Lona began her career with the Village in 1981, |
6 |
| serving as Administrative Secretary to the Assistant Village |
7 |
| Manager and support for the Director of Finance and Data |
8 |
| Processing Manager; over the years, she has served as |
9 |
| Administrative Assistant and Assistant to the Village Manager, |
10 |
| Benefits Coordinator, and Risk Manager; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, On July 25, 1987, in addition to her other Village |
12 |
| responsibilities, Lona was appointed to fill the term of |
13 |
| then-retiring Village Clerk Sandra Kent; in 1989, she was |
14 |
| elected as Village Clerk for the first of four consecutive |
15 |
| four-year terms; in all, Lona has served as Village Clerk for |
16 |
| almost 19 years; she earned her Master's Degree from Roosevelt |
17 |
| University in 1996; in June 2003, she retired from her |
18 |
| full-time position, but continued her Village Clerk |
19 |
| responsibilities until the end of her elected term; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, Lona is a very positive character with a great |
21 |
| attitude and work ethic; her long history of public service is |
22 |
| well-respected in the community and her variety of skills and |
23 |
| knowledge about the Village and municipal functions will be |
24 |
| greatly missed; and
|
25 |
| WHEREAS, Her personnel file is full of thank-you notes, |
26 |
| certificates of appreciation, certificates of training, and |
27 |
| letters from Congressmen to Cub Scouts; she has touched the |
28 |
| lives of so many in the Northbrook community - from her |
29 |
| involvement with the schools, relating local government |
30 |
| responsibilities to students, to volunteering with the 4th of |
31 |
| July Association, the Northbrook Centennial, the Northbrook |
