| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Dr. Gretchen J. Naff has devoted 35 years of her |
| 3 |
| professional life to higher education; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, She has provided outstanding leadership as |
| 5 |
| President of the College of Lake County for the last 10 years |
| 6 |
| and has been instrumental in the College's national reputation |
| 7 |
| as one of the finest community colleges; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, As President, she worked tirelessly on |
| 9 |
| initiatives for new College facilities, faculty and staff |
| 10 |
| development, and the expansion of educational opportunities |
| 11 |
| that continue to impact the lives of Lake County residents; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, She was a major advocate for the creation of the |
| 13 |
| University Center of Lake County; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, She led initiatives to diversify faculty and staff |
| 15 |
| at the College, established a Leadership Institute for |
| 16 |
| professional staff development, and created more than 50 new |
| 17 |
| degree and certificate programs to expand educational options |
| 18 |
| for students; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, She has built invaluable relationships with state |
| 20 |
| and national higher education leaders through her leadership as |
| 21 |
| President of the Illinois Community College Presidents Council |
| 22 |
| and her involvement with the American Association of Community |
| 23 |
| Colleges and the National Institute for Leadership |
| 24 |
| Development; and
|
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, She has represented the College with the highest |
| 26 |
| integrity in forging relationships with school districts, |
| 27 |
| colleges and universities, business, government, and community |
| 28 |
| organizations, including Lake County Partners; and
