| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, Marty Lindvahl has been named one of two 2005 |
3 |
| Women of Achievement by the Danville branch of the American |
4 |
| Association of University Women, an award given in celebration |
5 |
| of Women's History Month; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Lindvahl is the current Danville High School |
7 |
| choral music director; she graduated from Eastern Illinois |
8 |
| University, where she met her husband, Mark, who is also a |
9 |
| music teacher; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, She and her husband both taught in northwest |
11 |
| Indiana and then returned to central Illinois, where she was |
12 |
| the band director in Bethany while he directed band in |
13 |
| Sullivan; when they moved to Hoopeston 20 years ago to teach in |
14 |
| the same school district, she filled the vocal instructor and |
15 |
| show choir position, while he took the job opening in |
16 |
| instrumentals and as jazz band instructor; they team taught for |
17 |
| 17 years; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Three years ago, the couple moved to Danville to |
19 |
| teach music in District 118; Mrs. Lindvahl has spent all three |
20 |
| years at Danville High School, directing choir, show choir, and |
21 |
| Madrigals, and serving as assistant marching band director and |
22 |
| division chair for foreign language, art, and music; therefore, |
23 |
| be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
25 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
26 |
| we congratulate Marty Lindvahl on being named one of two 2005 |
27 |
| Women of Achievement by the Danville branch of the American |
28 |
| Association of University Women; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
