2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1133, AS AMENDED, | ||||||
3 | with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. | ||||||
4 | 1, on page 1, by replacing line 7 with the following:

5 | " Sec. 5-25. Pediatric asthma initiative. | ||||||
6 | (a) During fiscal year "; and | ||||||
7 | on page 1, after line 22, by inserting the following: | ||||||
8 | " (b) After completing the review under subsection (a), the | ||||||
9 | Department of Public Aid shall develop a pilot asthma disease | ||||||
10 | management program. The pilot program shall be targeted to an | ||||||
11 | area or areas with the highest prevalence of asthma.
The | ||||||
12 | Department shall consult with the Department of Public Health | ||||||
13 | and other State agencies, federal health agencies, experts in | ||||||
14 | asthma and immunology, providers, and consumers in developing | ||||||
15 | the pilot program. The pilot program shall also seek to | ||||||
16 | maximize collaborations between existing asthma programs in | ||||||
17 | the State of Illinois. The pilot program shall be subject to | ||||||
18 | specific appropriations or budget savings derived from the | ||||||
19 | program due to reduced asthma-related hospitalizations or | ||||||
20 | emergency room visits. ".
