SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













215 ILCS 5/356o new










    Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that no individual or group policy of accident or health insurance or managed care plan may deny or limit coverage or contain any exception or exclusion of benefits, solely because the insured or any dependent of the insured is autistic, developmentally disabled, or diagnosed with a developmental delay.

    AN ACT concerning insurance.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended  by adding

Section 356o as follows:

    (215 ILCS 5/356o  new)

    Sec. 356o.  Autism; developmental disability; 
8
developmental delay. No individual or group policy of accident 
9
or health insurance or any managed care plan may deny or limit 
10
coverage or contain any exception or exclusion of benefits, 
11
solely because the insured or any dependent of the insured is 
12
autistic, developmentally disabled, or diagnosed with a

developmental delay.
