| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2200

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2200 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Tuberculosis Sanitarium District Act is |
5 |
| amended by
adding Section 5.4 as follows:
|

| (70 ILCS 920/5.4 new)
|
7 |
| Sec. 5.4. Dissolution; counties of 3,000,000 or more. |

| Notwithstanding any
provision of law to the contrary, any |
9 |
| tuberculosis sanitarium district organized under this Act in a |
10 |
| county with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants is
dissolved by |
11 |
| operation of law upon the effective date of this amendatory Act |
12 |
| of
the 93rd General
Assembly. All assets and liabilities of the |
13 |
| dissolved tuberculosis sanitarium district are transferred to |
14 |
| the county board of the county in which the district is located |
15 |
| upon the date of dissolution and all assets shall be deposited |
16 |
| into a special purpose fund for the diagnosis, treatment, and |
17 |
| prevention of tuberculosis. The county board shall examine all |
18 |
| parcels of unimproved real estate in excess of 15 acres owned |
19 |
| by the dissolved tuberculosis sanitarium district and transfer |
20 |
| them, to the extent appropriate, to the forest preserve |
21 |
| district board of the county. All responsibility for |
22 |
| tuberculosis
care and treatment of the dissolved tuberculosis |
23 |
| sanitarium district
is transferred to
the county board and |
24 |
| shall be administered by the county's State-recognized public |
