 1        AN ACT in relation to public aid.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Illinois Public Aid Code  is  amended  by
 5    changing Section 5A-6 as follows:

 6        (305 ILCS 5/5A-6) (from Ch. 23, par. 5A-6)
 7        Sec.   5A-6.   Disposition  of  proceeds.   The  Illinois
 8    Department  shall  pay  all  moneys  received  from  hospital
 9    providers under this Article into the Hospital Provider Fund.
10    Upon certification by the Illinois Department  to  the  State
11    Comptroller  of  its intent to withhold from a provider under
12    Section 5A-7(b), the State Comptroller shall draw  a  warrant
13    on the treasury or other fund held by the State Treasurer, as
14    appropriate.   The  warrant  shall state the amount for which
15    the provider is entitled to a  warrant,  the  amount  of  the
16    deduction,  and  the  reason  for  the deduction therefor and
17    shall direct the State Treasurer to pay the  balance  to  the
18    provider,  all  in accordance with Section 10.05 of the State
19    Comptroller Act. The warrant  also  shall  direct  the  State
20    Treasurer  to transfer the amount of the deduction so ordered
21    from the treasury or other fund into  the  Hospital  Provider
22    Fund.
